Intro

Design co studio initially challenged us to solve any problem. A very vague prompt, so our team of 5 began brain storming various fields and some problems we might approach.
In order to ensure a successful project, our goal was to focus on two things: uniqueness and plausibility.
Our ideas ranged from the gaming industry to food, but ultimately we settled on this idea for a note taking app targeted towards college students with a focus on flexibility, collaboration, and organization.
Once we decided on our topic, we headed into our research.
Research
Now that we had our topic, it was time to do some research.

We started by outlining our research goals and scouring public such as “Reddit” to understand discourse and problems people were encountering with existing note taking apps.

Additionally we did some competitor analysis, researched various studying techniques such as Pomodoro, and had some peers fill out a survey about what kinds of features they use or would use in a note taking app.
From there we synthesized our research to uncover common themes and pain points to target for our initial prototyping.
Prototyping
We made several iterations of low fi prototypes. Some key features included ai assistance, audio recordings, a grid-like organization space for flexible organization, study features, and a publishing feature that syncs to classes and allows students to share notes easily.

We had two versions of our prototype, the one shown is version A, which was more favored by our users, and was adapted for our hi-fi.
User Testing

We asked several users from our target demographic, students, to navigate the user flow of our product and answer some questions.
Our key discovery, was that few people seemed interested in our collaboration features, especially

Conclusion
Our team placed 4th overalll at the design showcase and competition.
